Called a “legend” by Surfer magazine, Peggy Hall is an avid surfer and inspiring teacher. Peggy is recognized as the pioneer of the global surf + yoga movement as the first person to popularize yoga and surfing with her best-selling Yoga for Surfers® Instructional DVD Series, which has helped thousands of surfers around the world surf better – and live better!
Peggy trains teachers exclusively in her Yoga for Surfers® style, which is a flowing, "feel-good" style of yoga designed to replenish energy and stretch and strengthen the very muscles needed for the rigorous demands of the ocean. The Yoga for Surfers® Teacher Training Program draws participants from all over the world and sells out every year.
As an avid surfer, former competitive swimmer and water polo player, long-distance ocean swimmer, certified yoga instructor, holistic nutritionist, published author, radio personality and television host, Peggy inspires everyone she meets with her infectious enthusiasm, pure positive energy and sunshiny outlook on life. Her signature catch-phrase is "The best is yet to come," and she lives what she believes.
Peggy teaches her signature style of healing and energizing yoga Better Living Yoga in Aliso Viejo. She received her Certificate in Yoga Studies from the University of California, Irvine and has completed -- and led -- many dozens of advanced teacher training workshops. Peggy is also frequently sought after to share her secrets for "Living Swell®" at corporations, major resorts and spas.
Peggy has been appeared on television over 100 times over the past few years as the national wellness expert for America Now, an Emmy-nominated lifestyle television program broadcast on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. She is also the featured health and wellness expert for the ABC Radio Network and since 2007 she has been appearing weekly on the syndicated “Hits and Favorites” radio show.
Peggy frequently writes for and appears in major national and international media with over 200 hundred published articles in magazines such as Yoga Journal, Clean Eating, Oxygen Women's Fitness, First for Women, Women’s World Magazine, Life & Style, Shape, Self, Surfer, Tracks, Outside, Men's Journal, Muscle & Fitness Hers, The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, The Orange County Register, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today and US News & World Report among others.
Prior to her splash in the wellness field, Peggy had a rewarding career in international education and taught English and writing at the university level. For several years, she was the Director of Teacher Education at the University of California, Irvine and has over 25 years experience in training teachers, which is her true gift and passion.
Peggy holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations and speaks fluent French and Arabic. A world traveler, she lived in Paris for a short time and also spent several years in Morocco, first as an English teacher with the Peace Corps and later as a brand manager for Proctor & Gamble in Casablanca. Upon her return to the US, Peggy started her own corporate training company, Global Learning, where she designed and delivered cross-cultural communications programs, keynote speeches, seminars and workshops for major international corporations.
Peggy lives, writes, teaches and surfs in her native Southern California with her husband and their dog and four cats. Peggy is a passionate animal welfare advocate and promotes hope, healing and humane education through her non-profit group, Compassion for All.
